Just posted a pic of our Baby Girl standing in our window checking out the squirrels and birds. We came in looking for a different dog and were disappointed when it did not work out. We were ready to leave with no new furr buddy when the staff said wait why don’t you check out this dog we have that no one has looked at. We went to meet her went for a walk and sat down when she jumped in between us and gave hugs. We never looked back she has been with us ever since and is the best dog ever. Thank you for our forever buddy.
My friends boyfriend and dog were in a car accident and the dog ended up at Charlie’s place. It took a couple days to get up to him from Denver and he was ecstatic to see his owner again. They took good care of him and he was fine. People were nice and thorough as well.
Sue and her staff are amazing. Very patient and caring.
Absolutely beautiful and wonderful place and people. I have helped them with transport now and then over the last 6 (?) years and I’ve never seen a mistreated dog or cat. They’re all pretty spoiled but so ready for you to take one home I adopted two dogs from them and am so thankful that I did! Here they are, partners in crime and budding athletes.
This is an absolutely wonderful shelter!!! You can tell all the staff here really care about the animals; even those needing lots of work. They will even pay for surgeries when the adoptable dog or cat needs something.
We adopted a dog here in 2015 who had a bad hip & had been at the shelter a year or so. They did the surgery & told us what he needed. He only used 3 legs out of 4 for awhile but after about a year of exercise coupled with regular glucosamine/fish oil in his food— the other leg came down for use!! Its amazing!!!
We can’t thank Charlies place enough. They guided us in caring for this 4 (use of 3) legged reservation dog and he ended up being a loveable, excellent dog! I was scared at 1st he might chew all my furniture or react badly to a new home but 15/10 he’s been an angel!! Thank you Charlies place staff!!!!
