Located in the heart of Dublin, California, Dougherty Hills Dog Park offers local pet owners a welcoming and convenient spot for their furry companions to play and socialize. This popular dog park boasts separate runs for small and large dogs, with securely divided sections and accessible entrance and parking for visitors of all abilities. Grassy areas—though sometimes featuring some bald spots and critter holes—provide plenty of space for dogs to run, fetch, and make new friends.
Amenities at Dougherty Hills Dog Park include benches for pet parents, doggy water fountains, a supply of poop bags, and easy nearby parking. The park is known for its friendly community of regular visitors, and city maintenance ensures the grounds are regularly cleaned—though muddy or dusty conditions can occur after wet weather. With no breed or size restrictions and no membership required, this free and open-to-the-public park is the perfect choice for daily exercise and safe off-leash play, especially for timid or anxious dogs.
Basic dog park, several dogs were there. Owners were all pleasant and welcoming, chatting with each other as expected. Nothing too special about this park, but it did have grass and a water fountain (which we don’t use as we bring our own water bowl). Both a small & large dog section, securely divided. Parking was available, but could be more difficult at prime times as any park would be.
A great little dog/big dog park with two different play areas. There are a lot of critter holes in the little dog area. While the city makes a daily or weekly effort to fill the holes, it doesn’t really work and can be potentially dangerous if a dog slips into one of the holes. It can also get quite muddy in the little dog run, so be mindful when you go. Otherwise, I love this place!! Try to go every day for the fur baby. He was traumatized as a puppy in a dog park that wasn’t split by size and this park changed him from timid to playful with all dogs because he’s surrounded by pups his size. Highly recommend if you have an anxious dog.
There are big dog park and small dog park. Both with grasses (expect to see bald spots because of the heavy traffic) and benches. Good size big dog park for running around. Small park is ok but it’s usually packed. Lots of dogs come here at all hours. Many are regulars.
Dogs are usually well behaved. Most owners are friendly. Occasionally there are irresponsible owners but it happens in all the parks. The park can get muddy in certain area during rainy season.
My dog has been coming here since she was few months old. Although now she doesn’t play much anymore, we still come here every so often to hang out with friends.
So happy to have this spot so close by. I haven’t felt the need to venture to other dog parks because of it! Over all lots of great dogs and owners that come here. Never shy on poop bags and the city seems to make a good effort to keep it maintained.
Fair warning though, it can get dusty and your dog will likely need a wipe down or a bath after a visit 😂.
Obviously always be mindful of your dog as there is occasionally an owner or two who doesn’t care to actually watch their dog and would rather be on their phone. But truly 9.5 times out of 10 the owners are just as awesome as their dogs!
Great spot, somewhat small compared to other parks, but still plenty of room for big dogs to run & fetch the ball. The park has a doggy water fountain ⛲ and poop bags. And benches for those who choose to not interact with their dog… Easy close parking lot too.
