Connects to the Schuylkill river trail Thun Bartrum loop, easy parking, elevated trail, no mid, level, cindered on packed clay trail. Goes in a nice loop about 2 miles or less. Heard the bullfrogs in the ponded areas, saw the ballfields from above, pair of long stairs takes you down to the Schuylkill rivers edge with a lower path as well an easy hike.
I’ve been using this park for the last 5 years. It provides easy access to the Schuylkill River Trail and offers convenient and well-maintained accessible parking that feels safe and includes restroom facilities. I especially enjoy the 1.60 mile trail loop for a quick run or walking the dog.
Well-kept trail with good scenery. Most folks are considerate although some let their pets or equine mess on the path and don’t clean it up.but someone always does later. Clean parking lot and restrooms (when open).
Safe place to hike even after dark (bring a light though).
Shared by hikers, runners, cyclists, and equestrians. Trail is nearly dead-flat and just over a mile loop.
Moderately used trail by walkers, runners, bicyclists, and horses. Well maintained flat packed gravel. Plenty of benches along the 1.6 mile loop if you need a break or simply want to relax and enjoy nature. There are several sets of wooden staircases that take you away from the trail to take you to the Schuylkill River or to boost your workout.
Nice loop trail paved with gravel that connects to other local trails. The loop is just long enough for a nice walk. I saw plenty of birds, including a crane, and squirrels along the trail. Based on the signs, the trail looked to be bike and horse friendly. Decent amount of parking available. Would recommend.
