FAQ for Hudson Social in Dobbs Ferry New York:
Take out food was fine, probs not best idea we had to include fries that cold quickly. But the brussel sprouts app was delicious! All 3 of us loved it & will def order again. Highlight was Sam, bartender, who made delicious cocktails while I waited for our food. She was adept, kind, funny and made a great Lemon Drop martini! Would return there for drinks just to sit at her bar and relax with a delicious libation. Sam is def a keeper.
I visited Hudson Social today and ordered a quick lunch. I got the pulled pork tacos and the Brussels sprouts — both were out of this world and came out in record time, faster than any sit-down restaurant I’ve been to. The staff there is very friendly, always has a smile, and is more than happy to accommodate any food modifications or allergy concerns.I had the pleasure of meeting the manager at the time, which made my day. She asked if everything was alright with the food and if I wanted any drinks. Talking to her made my day since she has this down-to-earth, bubbly personality. I felt very at home and wish I could give 15 stars to this restaurant that overlooks all the boats on the Hudson River.
My wife and I have eaten here 3 times over the last 5 years, each time more disappointing then the previous. The more recent reviews seem to tell a similar story. Lunch service seemed to be staffed well, plenty of people circulating and the seating was instant. Our food was prompt to arrive at the table, hot and ready to eat. Overall service was good. We sat down to a gorgeous outdoor October lunch.Wings were a great appetizer, crispy and sizeable but the BBQ sauce seemed to be the entire flavor profile and the chicken offered nothing of its own; not a deal breaker. Budget pretzel bites with your standard grocery store brown mustard are genuinely overpriced for what they are; lesson learned if there is a future visit. Sadly, the pulled pork sandwich my wife ordered disappointed us the most. The pork was hardly pulled, more of a chunked consistency which gave careless vibes from the kitchen staff and the pork offered nothing without the (same) BBQ sauce to save the day. The fries that came with both dishes seemed to be from 3 separate time zones. Some were fresh, some were dry, others were stale. I ordered the Fried Cod sandwich ( with fries ) which I can’t say bad things about, but I wouldn’t pay for it again. We love to support our local businesses and eat out regularly in the river towns so I hope this was a fluke.
Cute place, probably former train station. Free parking with pass available with manager. Pretty water views. A little crowded inside. Service a little uneven on timing but friendly. Worth it to be able to park here and walk around outside for a few minutes. Interesting trees by the water. Manager was nice.
I had a great experience with the food here! The Brussels sprouts were amazing—crispy and full of flavor. The loaded nachos were also a hit, and I ordered a salad that was fresh, tasty, and surprisingly filling. Overall, the food was absolutely delicious and definitely worth recommending. The only downside was the service. Our server seemed quite young and maybe a bit inexperienced, which showed in the level of attentiveness and pace. That said, it didn’t take away too much from the overall experience because the food really stood out.
