FAQ for Dobbs Ferry Animal Hospital in Dobbs Ferry New York:
Feel like the doctors there were very money motivated and lacked empathy. Over years that we went to this practice, they never tried to accommodate our dog when she was sick and she always had to be treated elsewhere. They even charge you if you ask them send your prescriptions to an outside pharmacy. As a healthcare worker, I find their way of practicing deeply upsetting.
Dobbs Ferry Animal Hospital is terrific. We’ve been taking our pets there for 20 years. Don’t be deterred by the office’s modest appearance. It’s a serious, extremely competent place. Everyone is devoted to their work and very knowledgeable. Ignore people who say they found staff rude. They’re not. Dr. Mendelsohn is a straightforward, no-nonsense doc. Same with the vet tech. Parking lot is limited but you can park on a side street.
I have been going to Dobbs Ferry Animal Hospital for many years. After my last dog passed (she was almost 17!), I knew as soon as I got another dog, I would come back Dobbs Ferry Animal Hospital. And I’ve finally done it – I have a new puppy and she’s already a patient there! We’re both so happy that Dr. Mendelsohn continues to be available. I love everything about this place and am so appreciative for the informative and patient staff. Here’s to many more years of an amazing family vet! 🙂
Such a great experience at Dobbs Ferry Animal Hospital. Dr. Mendelsohn was awesome, teaching me ways to handle the puppy stage, educating me on the vaccines and timeline for my puppy, and walking me through everything. Made me feel so reassured about it all. The whole staff was helpful and courteous! Definitely recommend this vet if you need one in Westchester.
We’ve been going to Dobbs Ferry Animal Hospital for over 10 years and our dogs have been patients of Dr. Mendelsohn for over 17 years. Very thorough and honest. They take the time to explain everything and answer all of your questions. Highly recommend them.
