Located in the heart of Delmar, State Street Park is a welcoming community space where families, children, and dogs can enjoy the outdoors. Featuring sprawling open space, huge shade trees, picnic tables, a BBQ hibachi, and an open-air pavilion, this park offers a tranquil spot for social gatherings and playtime. With its spacious layout and convenient amenities, it’s an ideal destination for those searching for a dog park in Delmar, Maryland or looking for pet-friendly parks near Salisbury.
What makes State Street Park unique are its family-focused features—there’s a playground for kids, ample green areas for dogs and owners to explore, and shaded spots for hot summer days. While park cleanliness is praised, visitors have occasionally noted maintenance concerns such as tall grass and mud after rain. Still, this beloved local spot stands out for its beautiful setting and its dedication to community, including a special monument for a local fallen police officer.
The park itself is very spacious. Children enjoyed themselves however there was a group of men blasting music under the pavilion.
Nice, clean and safe!! The new equipment is fantastic! Our grandson loves it! We had been driving to Laurel but this is the best!
State Street Park is in the heart of Delmar De/MD… and its a beautiful place for groups to hold their events or to just spend some time with the kids … or by yourself. Huge shade trees, BBQ hibachi, picnic tables and an open air pavilion (if the weather takes a turn on you)
The little kid fenced in area is pretty nice, but the big kid playground is really showing its age.
The most frustrating about both areas is the unbelievably tall grass. Town of Delmar is quick to pass out notices when residential homes have grass/weeds that are “too high” but yet this playground is BARELY maintained. And it makes the bugs (specifically mosquitoes and spiders) out of control.
We came to play last week and the grass was tall then, but today (6 DAYS LATER) it is unacceptable!! 😡😳🙄
Adding to this about 6mo later- after some rain fall, the entire park is flooded and muddy. This is fixable and us residents pay PLENTY in taxes. MAKE THIS PARK ENJOYABLE DELMARRRR
I love the new park and the monument towards are falling police officer Kieth. Thank you Delmar. The park is awesome. We go a couple times a week with my grandson…
