If you’re searching for a dog park in Decatur, Alabama, this convenient spot near Beltline Rd SW offers a spacious, pet-friendly area for your furry companions to exercise and socialize. Visitors praise the large open spaces and separated sections, making it an ideal place for both small and large dogs to run and play off-leash. The grassy park is wheelchair accessible, with easy parking nearby, ensuring everyone can enjoy the outdoors with their four-legged friends.
Both sections of the park are well-maintained, and the location is kid-friendly, making it a great family outing destination. While there’s plenty of space for dogs to romp and several opportunities for owners to connect, please note that reports mention occasional maintenance or construction, so vigilance is encouraged during your visit. Water fountains have reportedly been out of order, so bringing your own water is a good idea. This Decatur dog park is a popular spot for locals seeking social, leash-free play for their pets.
No dog park. It no longer there. Under construction
In these COVID-times…this is an outdoor place to come together with your four-legged friends. You can safely social distance while you play with your pets and talk with others!
Great fun for our 4 legged friends! Plenty of running space and pals to make🐕 Water fountain not operational.
Great spot to bring the pups. Tons of room to run. There are 2 separate dog park areas here. One of quite a bit larger than the other. Both are well kept and manicured. Awesome place for dogs to get some play time in.
For the most part, it’s a decent Park. But today, October 4th 2022, when I took my dog to the dog park, I found that they had foot high 2x4s sticking out of the ground all over the park with nails sticking out of the top of them. Even without the nails, it is obvious how much of a hazard these 2x4s would be to big dogs wrestling around them. I’m very disappointed in the park. They should not have left it open for the public, if they’re doing construction inside that could lead to the harm of people’s pets. Needless to say, it is obvious that this park does not have your pet’s best interests at heart. If you bring your dog to this park, be vigilant.
