Cute local park, not a lot going on though (chalk it up to it being winter though). They have a nature nook with a bathroom available, it’s wheelchair friendly and there’s also a changing table. They have a station so you can refill water bottles, and give your dog a drink. There’s also learning stations so you can teach your kids about nature and how to take care of it! Overall a very cute accessible park to take your family and/or pets!
This park is a hidden slice of nature. The hiking trails have a varied elevation along with straight and level patches. If you want a longer hike, there’s the long Brown loop. But a shorter half hour hike is also an option. My dog loves the trails and the prairie and we come every chance we have.
Grant Park is a large park with many trails and is very scenic. Hole’s Creek goes through the park and is one of its best features. The trails are easy to moderate for the most part, with some trails having sections that are steep.
Superb trails to explore and navigate. Old style chimneys are available in a few spots for fires and cooking. Awesome views of the creek run thru much of the park. A few of the trails are harder, but definitely worth the time spent. Wonderful experience there and I am certain that I will go back.
Lovely wooded park, a hideaway of nature in the middle of suburbia. The parking lot is large and the center has bathrooms inside. There’s a small, paved loop trail and a “nature playground” for children. At the far end of the paved trail is a gravel trail that explores further into the woods and alongside the river.
