We went there to eat at the BBQ restaurant when we walked in it wasn’t busy only 5 tables were seated. Hostess sat us and gave us our menus we had so much time to read them we waited 20 mins but never did get anyone to even take our drink order. When we completed the woman just giggled and shrugged her shoulders we will not be back and do not recommend this place

The pictures don’t do this place justice. Even if you don’t stay here, eat at Smokehouse & save room for dessert!! Glad we stayed. Enjoyed the food, views, & arcade. Will check out the fitness room tomorrow.

Generally, I love it here. This summer, however, I had a different experience. When I first arrived with my kids, sister, and her kids, the front desk folks had a lot of trouble getting us squared away as having two rooms, two different payors. Thankfully, that got settled after a bit. I had made the reservations for two rooms several months ago.

After unpacking, we then walked over to the trail to Elakala Falls. There was a hornets nests on the bridge that you walk across to get to the trail. I understand that wildlife is important. But keeping a hornets nest on a heavily trafficked path without some kind of warning was irresponsible, in my opinion. My nephew, who has special needs, got too excited after having just arrived. He was stung on his face. Later that evening, we ate outside for dinner. We found two additional hornets nests on heavily used walkways- under the stones of the walkways outside the lodge that you use to look out over the gorge.

The arcade was not okay. Most of the machines stole our quarters without giving credits. The front desk informed us they do not reimburse for that. Fair enough, but maybe put warning signs on repeat offending machines.

For the first time ever, rangers knocked on our hotel room door at 9 pm on Saturday, saying they had recieved a noise complaint from the neighbor. My sister and I were playing boardgames with our kids. It was good family fun. Honestly, we should have been in adjoining rooms in the first place, but we weren’t. We moved our game to my room down the hall. We all went to sleep by 10:30. The neighbors to my room didn’t get back to their room until 11:30. They woke me up when they were getting into their room. It was fine.
Will I go and stay here again next year?
I believe in second chances, so yes.

Exceeded expectations. I was surprised at the price of the room before arriving, but it made more sense when I arrived to find a recently renovated room. The bed/pillow situation was top notch – very comfortable and cozy. I wasn’t there long enough to enjoy the amenities but I’d definitely come back. Very close to the campground where my friends were staying.

I wanted to write a review because we just came back from staying in the lodge for two nights. It was clean, The staff were friendly and helpful. We had several things That needed to be fixed. The bathroom door would not stay shut. The shower door would not stay shut. And the TV was all messed up which we didn’t watch much TV but still, it would’ve been nice to have one that actually had a good picture. We really enjoyed the pool and the game room with the fireplace. I wanted to post a review about the restaurant because I had heard that the food was not very good but we had a great experience with the food. It was expensive, but it was really good and since it was kind of nasty out, it was nice not to have to go anywhere to eat. On New Year’s Eve they had a wonderful buffet and like I said it was expensive, but we felt like it was worth it. The breakfast bar was also delicious.

The beds are very comfortable. I love the Wild Mountain shampoo, conditioner, and soap!!
