Amazing place. If you love fishing, this is the place. Also you can watch bald eagles
We seen about 6 eagles. It was an amazing trip. Loved seeing the dam. Would love to stay somewhere close by to visit again
Visited today when passing through the area, worth the time. Saw some eagles, not much fishing but water is high.
I was visiting the area from out of state, and was told the Conowingo Dam was a great location for photographing birds.
I arrived pretty late in the afternoon, and set up about 200 yards from the Fisherman’s Park.
It seemed like the fishermen were having a great time, although I didn’t see any catches.
I did manage to photograph a couple of magnificent bald eagles, one of my bucket list birds.
I would highly recommend going to the dam, for bird photography.
We love this place and we visit there at least a couple times a year over the last 10 years. We can always spot a few bald eagles and other wild birds. There are always lots of cameras enthusiasts with super zoom lenses keeping eyes on the eagles. It’s nice just to park the car, take a few steps and watch the birds. There’s a trail along the water for those who want to get some exercise too.
