M.C. Martin Park is a small, peaceful green space located on Memorial Drive in Danville, VA, perfect for a quick visit with your furry friend. Known as one of the more tranquil dog parks in Danville, Virginia, it features grassy spaces ideal for dog walks and simple picnics, with scenic views near the river. While relatively modest in size, the park offers picnic tables and natural shade, making it a convenient stop for those looking to relax or enjoy a pet-friendly outing.
Although M.C. Martin Park does not have designated fenced or off-leash areas, its open layout welcomes dog owners for leashed strolls and riverside walks. The location is clean, regularly maintained, and features a small playground for children, adding to its family-friendly appeal. For more amenities, dog lovers can also explore Camilla Williams Park directly across the street, which offers larger playgrounds and riverside access. Whether you’re seeking a quiet space for a lunch break or a peaceful place to walk your dog, this park provides a laid-back atmosphere close to Danville’s heart.
You can take a beautiful stroll alongside the river but there is no Riverwalk or ramp or anything. A few picnic tables along the river with a cleared out would be nice.

Cute little park to eat but very very small. The area looks like there used to be a house on the property that got torn down and instead of building a new house, a park was made. I can respect that.

This Park is basically just a small two picnic table and small grassy space to keep dogs out children near while you discuss a topic over a picnic meal. However, just across the street is the Camilla Williams Park, which is a huge park with a playground near the water!

It was clean, decently maintained. The children’s play area left a bit to be desired. A bit to small for my 7yo. The swings were quite far from the play area. I’m 6’4″ and the swings were the perfect height for me… not so much for my 4’1″ daughter.. the picnic shelter was nice
