The 4-mile loop on AllTrails was a great hiking trail! We completed it in 2 hours at a moderate pace. There was plenty of shade, but remember to bring bug repellent!

The parking area is nice, and the trails are ok, but the castle isn’t much to see. It’s fenced off with graffiti all over it. As someone else had mentioned, the backroads to get there was the best part. It’s clear the town has given up on the castle.

Gorgeous park in the middle of the city. The mansion was not open but the grounds were lovely to walk around. Lots of spots to sit and enjoy the views.

This is one of my favorite places. So many paths to explore and so much nature to take in. I especially love all of the birds that live here. There are picnic tables and benches all over the park. There are some dog waste bags and trash cans. Parking is plentiful and there are maps by the entrances.

So today I decided to go here and I parked where hertstone castle was. I headed up to check out the castle which I thought was really cool. There was a hole in the fence. Then I continued and did a loop. There is a few open down parts with slight Elevatin. The trail is a bit rocky at times. The ruins were really funny to check out
