Newer park. Two large pitches, one turf. Play area. Walking track. Some exercise machines in the very back along the walking path. GETS HOT. While there are shade areas it was just a hotter park than say Arbor where we play soccer as well.

Community Park with a ⅓ of a mile track around it. There is a nice field and a mediocre field smack dab in the middle of the park. There are also bleachers to watch sportsball events. On one side of the park there is permanent exercise equipment. On opposite sides of the park there are barbeque grills that take coal fires. There’s also a pickleball court. It loses a start because it’s located in Cypress.

It’s been my second time at Lexington park and it’s really nice. The first time I was going to use the soccer field but noticed it was really packed on a Thursday morning. So instead I grabbed my basketball gear and headed to the basketball courts. I didn’t realize they had a schedule for the basketball courts for both tennis/pickle ball and basketball players to use at different times and days. Thankfully I arrived on a day where basketball was scheduled from 8-12 I believe, didn’t get to take a snapshot for people to know. But it’s there, posted on the backside of the court. As for today coming in on Tuesday, relatively early morning I was able to join with other soccer players. But then an American football coach came by several times stating that he had the field reserved from 8am-2pm. That was very discouraging and upsetting that I wasn’t able to get the 60-90 min I wanted to be on the turf soccer field. The other half was also being used by a soccer coach that had been there prior to my arrival. I believe based on summer hours, one half of the field should be open to the public and based on othe parks I have been to, 8am -1pm should be appropriate during weekdays. Overall there should be some schedule posted on the soccer fields as to when the public is able to use the turf field such as the basketball courts. Also keep a posting of when there are reservations for coaching. The other field is still under maintenance and has been closed both times that I have been there in the past three weeks. There is a track around the two fields that I’ve seen a lot of people use which is great!

Have a great day. Enjoy. And, “Google it, GOOD.”

The park is a quiet place, overall. Though it is found by a busy street, and I am here on an early afternoon Tuesday, I think it would be a nice place to have a picnic or barbecue. (See photos of one barbecue grill found on south end of aground area.)

WATER FOUNTAIN
As of today –August 23, 2022– water fountain near playground is not in service.
BUT… There are water fountains and water bottle refill station located near restrooms; which are found on the northwest portion of the park premises.
The fountains here appear to be the ones that have such an attachment for dogs made.
This would not only be helpful for dog owners, but to keep the dog owners from trying to get water for their dogs from the fountain portion that kids and adults drink from.

VEHICLE PARKING
Finding a parking spot on a busy, event day/night may prove to be a little difficult. From my estimates, there would be a shortage of parking spots if there were a full on game –or TWO!– taking place for the team players and a full host of friends and family in attendance.
Additionally, there are sapling trees planted in various places throughout the parking lot. There are no full-grown trees to provide shade to any vehicles.

WISEST PARKING TIP
If you are here in the late afternoon, I would venture to guess that the best spot to park at would be on the east side. Shade should be thrown to that area of the parking lot from the seating structures located nearby.

VIDEO OF FIELD
Foreground shows fake turf soccer field.
In distant background, grass turf shown on field.
Along the outer edges, past the seating area of the soccer field, there is a running path that is probably made from recycled tire pieces. Is that rubber kind of path.

PARK ADJACENT
There is some facility –horse stables from the nearby horse racetrack– to the south and east of the park premises. I am unsure as to the layout and setup. There are sounds of horses and chickens that can be heard.

EXERCISE EQUIPMENT
Other than the track that has its course on the outer permiter of the two soccer fields, there is a number of exercise equipment to be found in the south side of the park premises, divided I to two sections –on to the east, and one to the west– behind each soccer field
I have submitted photos of about half of the equipment found –the portion on the west side.
There will be the photo of the equipment, a photo of the instructions and muscle group being trained will be included.
(Sorry. Did not visit the east side equipment.)
It would be great for the exercise equipment that I am referring to here, be covered with a canopy of sorts to keep the equipment from becoming unbearably heated under the mid-day sun.

First class soccer fields. This park just recently opened. It has two soccer fields, one grass and one turf. The fields are in great shape. There shaded stands on each side of the park with no stands in between the fields. The stands are set up for you to use your own chair. There is a very nice playground for the younger kids to play on the west side. Fields are reservation only. On the north side of the fields is some exercise equipment for adult use. There’s also a basketball ball court. The restrooms are also on the west side and are kept clean and there’s tons of parking. Only downside is that it is right next to the Los Alimitos horse racetrack and it smells like it.
