Great place for a little picnic or a walk or a day outdoors! We went in evening time, saw lots of hawks flying around for a meal. Saw a few folks trying to catch fish. The bathrooms are enough, though wish the garbagebins were emptied by the city as they will overflowing. It is 5$ per car for parking and card only! Also some great walking trails around.
Great spot by Buford Dam with a sizable footbridge for promising views of the area. You can even feel a cool breeze coming from the river in the water channel as it flows from underneath the dam. Also present are picnic tables (some sheltered) each with its own grill, a boat ramp, restrooms, spots for fishing, and plenty of Canadian Geese…they seem to really love it here! LolFurther on down is the Bowmans Island Trail if you want to explore about 2.5 hours worth of nature trails.
This is a nice little park. Very scenic. Some picnic areas, bathrooms, access the the river and to the beautiful Laurel Ridge Trail (across the bridge). It’s NULL/day to park or NULL for an annual pass (good at all Army Corp of Engineer parks).
