Hound Town Dog Park in Crystal Lake, Illinois

Hound Town Dog Park is a popular off-leash destination for local dog owners in the Crystal Lake, IL area. Encompassing 3 acres, this fully fenced dog park provides plenty of space for your pet to play and socialize safely. The park features two separate areas so that small and large dogs (or more and less active pups) can enjoy their own spaces, giving you peace of mind for all play styles. To ensure a safe environment, a valid pass/key from the Crystal Lake Park District is required, which does involve providing up-to-date vaccination records for your pet.

Convenience is a mixed bag here: while there are picnic tables and wheelchair accessible entrances and parking lots, parking near the entrance can be limited—especially on busy days or game events—and visitors should be prepared for a brief walk from the nearest available parking. Hound Town does not provide poop bags, so owners should be sure to bring their own. Dog owners praise the park’s spaciousness and community feel, making it a top choice for those seeking dog-friendly parks near Crystal Lake and the northwest suburbs.

The larger area is split into two sections, why not just have one bigger area so dogs aren’t running up and down the fence line barking at each other. For the area that is available in the park I wish they would have made the dog park are larger.

Nice local place for pet owners. You do need to purchase a pass/key from the Crystal Lake Park district, and that includes giving them your pets current vaccination record.
It has two sides, so usually I go to the empty side because I have a small dog.
It is a bit of a walk from the parking lot, and the parking is impossible on game days. There are reserved spots for the dog park, but people completely disregard the signs.
The field on the left has a couple of big gaps at the bottom, and I have to keep an eye on my little dog.
