This is a great hike up to or down from Croton Dam. It is a trail with ample space, lots of wooded areas and great views to the river. The trail leads to and is part of the Old Croton Acqueduct (OCA). There are a couple of parking areas along the trail, no restrooms but there are garbage bins.
Great place to kayak. Choppy water and high winds made today’s paddle a bit challenging. But on a calm day, it would be just beautiful. Took the river all the way back until we got to a rocky area which was not passable. Don’t forget to pay for parking at the kiosk as you drive in, NULL/hour. You can unload at the launch but then must park behind the salt garage in the designated area.
Easy “hike”, more of a walk. Great for families, kids and pets! Great views and awesome scenery. Highly Recommend.
