🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
If you’re searching for a pet-friendly destination, Crosslake Dog Park offers a natural, forest-like setting that’s perfect for dogs and their owners in Crosslake, Minnesota. Located near the community center and local ball fields, this dog park provides a welcoming and well-maintained space with mature trees, plenty of shade, and a mix of dirt, rock, and grassy areas. The hilly terrain and small valley offer adventurous runs and exploration for energetic pups. While it’s not among the largest parks in the area, it’s prized for its friendly atmosphere and peaceful surroundings.
The park is entirely fenced, includes double-gated entries for safety, and has designated areas for both small/timid dogs and larger breeds to play. Owners will find several benches, a picnic table under a covered shelter, and waste stations with poop bags and trash bins. Bring your own water, as there are water bowls but no running water available on-site. The perimeter path allows short dog-friendly hiking, and kids can enjoy the nearby playground. Free gravel parking is available just outside the entrance.
Truly underwhelmed. For a community as affluent and outdoors-focused as Crosslake, this space feels starkly limited. I expected expansive, thoughtfully designed areas—like a multi-acre dog park with trails, water features, or shaded zones—to match the natural beauty here. Instead, it’s shockingly sparse, especially compared to Twin Cities parks that thrive on far fewer resources. The lack of creativity and investment in such a prime location is hard to overlook. If you’re seeking a dynamic outdoor experience for pets or people, temper your expectations. Crosslake’s potential remains untapped.
Beautiful dog park. Everyone maintains it well. Friendly. 🐕✨️
This is a very nice dog park. It’s frequently empty. My dog enjoys running up and down the little valley inside and along the perimeter trail. Some people regularly bring water jugs to share. A few times I have picked up after others but it’s not too bad.
It’s close to the community center, tennis courts, ball fields and a nice playground.
Wonderful dog park in forest like setting. There was a portapotty located by the parking lot. A playground was located at the east end of the park. There was a picnic table in the dog park itself located under a shelter. That would work for a picnic. The park was lovely! My dog loved it. It takes about 40 minutes for us to get there – but it’s worth it.
Medium sized dog park located near some ballfields. Parking area is unmarked gravel. Garbage bin outside of a double gated entrance. One small side for timid/small dogs, and one larger side for all dogs. Signs posted in pics. Bags provided in multiple spots on fence. One picnic table and a few benches scattered in the park.
The park’s outer “path” is a natural foot path with some pesky tree roots. Total of 0.1 miles for 1 lap.
Mature trees are abundant here offering tons of shade and plenty of sticks to fetch.
Ground is mix of dirt, natural rock, and minimally maintained grass/shrubbery. This park is hilly.
Water bowls on site but NO running water.
NO bathroom/porta potty.
Overall, not a large park by any means but in decent shape for a small town.
