Located at the corner of W Mack St & N Norton St in Corunna, McCurdy Park is a spacious, pet-friendly park ideal for families and dog owners alike. This well-maintained green space features beautiful old trees that provide plenty of shade, large open grassy areas perfect for leashed strolls with your pup, and pet-friendly hiking trails that meander near the river and historic village. In addition to its dog-friendly trails, McCurdy Park boasts a range of amenities including picnic tables, barbecue grills, athletic fields, a playground, and restrooms. The park is accessible to everyone with wheelchair-accessible entrances and parking. Ample parking and covered pavilions make it a top spot for gatherings, playdates, or a day out enjoying the outdoors with your furry friend.
McCurdy Park has alot to offer a family. The grounds have lots of old trees and gorgeous green space. The children’s playground could use some love but is still lots of fun. The roller hockey rink is an added bonus and the inline skating program that runs in the Spring is so great for kids.
There was some construction happening in the area of the Historic Village, but it didn’t impede us in any way. We had lunch on a picnic table at the 1st Pavillion (by the restrooms). Upon leaving, we took the long way out, by heading north toward the river, followed along the river, and saw the new metal pontoon-style floating deck that goes into the river. We went further along the river and seen that the wooden pavilion right next to the river is still there (it’s the location my sister married her now ex-husband) and then we traveled further and drove between the ball field, the hockey rink, the old “casino” and what looked to be construction of some sort, located across the road from the hockey rink.
We really enjoyed our trip down memory lane and also seeing the updated or new things happening within the park.
We attended a birthday party and had to stroll thru the historical village. They weren’t open but it was still magical and felt like we took a trip back in time. My kid surely loved all the old buildings and learning their names.
Outdoor historical district museum with old local buildings such as a couple houses, a store, sheds. There is a current-ish wooden play structure that’s pretty fun. Pretty dated park but over all nice. There are also trails to walk
Had a softball tournament here over a weekend. Field were done very well. parking was right there so it was easy to walk back and forth to the field that was nice especially when you have lots of equipment to haul back and forth
