This well-known dog park features a securely fenced off-leash area where dogs can roam, play, and socialize. While some reviews mention the need for better rule enforcement and occasional presence of aggressive dogs, the majority love the sense of community and the fun, outdoor environment Swaney Pointe offers. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE PARK RANGERS AND STAFF.
I took my dog here today, as I have several times. Things were going fine until the park ranger came in to refill the dog bag stations. When he came in the double gate he left the second gate open. The whole point of the double gate is so no dogs can get out while dogs and owners are trying to get in and vice versa. A lady went to bring in her two small dogs, and my dog with 2 other dogs ran over to greet them. Since the first gate was open they ran out of it and straight up to the dogs. The lady didn’t have time to close the gate behind her, so both of the gates were open and the 3 unleashed dogs had a perfect opportunity to escape. Thankfully, I ran towards them and started calling my dog, then all 3 ran to me.
We recently adopted our 4 year old dog and she doesn’t always come when she is called. If she didn’t, my dog could have been hit by a car or missing because of the carelessness of the park ranger. I tried to call Ramsey Creek park to speak to someone about it and no one answered.
I just don’t understand why the PEOPLE WHO WORK THERE don’t understand how to follow proper safety procedures.
This place has fallen pretty far in the past couple years. Today was the last time I’ll visit after our experience. We have been trying to explain to our 8 year old that we will have to say goodbye to our 13 year old lab rescue, and one thing our daughter wanted to do was take her to the dog park one more time. After 15 minutes of enjoying the dogs, other owners, and the park grounds, a lady walks in with her two aggressive dogs that attacked other dogs and barked at my daughter. She demanded that our daughter leave because she was under an age limit for the park, and before I had a chance to open my mouth she threatened to call the police. It took a long time to explain what happened to my daughter. Please be aware if your visiting this park there is a high chance you’ll have to deal with aggressive dogs and even nastier, power tripping owners.
Lots of space for your dog to run.
Lots of holes and poop for you and your dog to avoid. People do not always pay attention to the rules so scuffles are not uncommon. Scuffles between owns and scuffles between dogs.
I have very lucky with our 2 dogs and they have had a fun few trips to this park. There is definitely room for improvement
I bring my dog here on a regular basis. I have been traveling recently and compared to other dog parks within hundreds of miles…this one is awesome. I’ve only had an issue once and that was with a man with an aggressive dog. He wasn’t a regular and I havent seen him since then. We love our Ramsey hangout! Plenty of water, poop bags and even an outside hose to hose the dirty ones down.
Irresponsible owners and aggressive dogs allowed here. Nothing is done about this. Be prepared to be very careful when coming here.
