If you’re searching for a beautiful dog park in Corinth, New York with scenic, pet-friendly trails, Lake Bonita Trailhead at Moreau Lake State Park offers a peaceful natural retreat. This trailhead features well-maintained hiking paths that circle a charming lake and connect to a much larger trail network within the Palmer Town Range and Moreau Park. Many visitors comment on the tranquility, abundant shade, and the chance to explore with their leashed dogs—making it a favorite for dog owners who enjoy outdoor adventures.
Lake Bonita is ideal for dog-friendly hiking, thanks to its dog-welcoming attitude (dogs must remain leashed), easy-to-moderate trails, and shaded paths. There’s a spacious, recently built parking lot, though it fills quickly on sunny weekends. While there are no special dog park amenities like fenced enclosures or water stations, the beautiful forest, gentle streams, and connections to waterfall and overlook trails make it a special destination for anyone looking to spend quality time with their pup in the capital region’s great outdoors.

Great hike, even though it was more difficult than I expected, it was well worth the views and peacefulness.

Definitely an easy trail with some step-ups. The path takes you across a few small streams so you’ll walk over either stone or logs which could be slippery. The trail is well maintained and well used but not super crowded. Lots of dogs on leashes. We also took the Waterfall loop trail (blue markers) which was very pretty with gentle waterfalls, streams, and steeper pitched paths. Lots of shade and very quiet. However the loop part of this trail was closed for repairs.
