If you’re searching for a scenic dog-friendly hiking destination near Corbett, Oregon, Angel’s Rest Trailhead is an excellent choice. Located just off the Historic Columbia River Highway, this pet-friendly trail invites adventurers and their four-legged companions to experience breathtaking views of the Columbia River Gorge with plenty of space to explore. While it’s not a traditional fenced dog park, Angel’s Rest Trailhead is a favorite among locals seeking stunning natural beauty combined with dog-friendly hiking experiences.
The trail offers opportunities for dogs and their owners to enjoy a good workout amid lush forests and dramatic cliffside vistas. The path is well-known for its elevation gain and rewarding panorama at the top. Please note that while dogs are welcome, standard leash requirements typically apply as it is part of a public hiking area rather than a dedicated off-leash dog park. Be sure to bring water, waste bags, and keep safety in mind while enjoying this iconic Corbett, Oregon trail.

Beautiful. Great hike. I love his that are more than just a dirt trail. This does not disappoint. Rock slabs and rock fields littered along this step climb. Great views along the way to the top. Not too far from the city, either. Great for an early morning weekend hike, leaving plenty of time for the rest of your day to go on normally, albeit much more energized!

Went solo to Angel’s Rest today to clear my head. I arrived at around 8am and there were still at least 15 parking spots open. It was the first time I’ve hiked it. It’s mostly uphill, and there are two rocky areas that would definitely be uncomfortable without proper footwear. It’s a beautiful, serene hike. At the top, it’s easy to pass Angel’s Rest, and continue to Devil’s Rest by accident, which is what I did. I turned back and found the right path (it’s unmarked, but decently obvious). You’ll know you passed it if you reach the sign that gives directions to Devil’s Rest and Foxglove Way. I enjoyed the hike, and next time plan to keep going to Devil’s. I would have done it today, but it was overcast. Still beautiful, but would have preferred a clearer day.

One of my favorite hikes in the area. Good distance and difficulty with plenty of shade on sunny days. Super great views all along the trail. The view at the top is totally worth it. Amazing spot for pictures or a quick picnic.

Great hike I think it’s shorter than it says I got 1.9 miles till top with all the rocks. First part is a workout definitely all up hill and few switchbacks. Can be slippery even on dry days. No restrooms. Good parking amount. Very close drive to troutdale for food.

There’s one handicap spot in the lower lot. It’s super nice to see Multnomah Sheriff Deputies driving through to keep everything safe! No restrooms and no permit required for parking. This is a favorite hike; 4.5 miles, 1.5 K ft. Gorgeous views!
