Located in the picturesque village of Cooperstown, New York, Council Rock Park offers a prime spot for dog owners seeking a scenic retreat. Nestled along River Street, this park is known for its tranquil setting and welcoming atmosphere, making it a popular choice for locals looking for dog-friendly outdoor options in the area. While basic information is available, pet owners should check in advance regarding off-leash policies and specific amenities for dogs.
Council Rock Park is a great starting point to explore pet-friendly trails and lovely river views. Its convenient downtown location makes it ideal for a quick outing or as part of a day out enjoying local Cooperstown cafes, shops, and attractions with your pup.
Beautiful small park with great views.
A beautiful view of the lake with huge shade trees and benches to sit on.
Beautiful Lake in the Winter…nice views! I hope to see this again in the summer!
History, beauty and nature all comes together at this river and lake feature with small beach, grass area and bench seating. A great place to spend part of your day. No other amenities and I had full bars of Verizon 4G LTE Roaming.
Mostly a historic marker at the edge of the lake, but the view is beautiful.
In addition to the Council Rock marker, at the same location is a marker for Clinton’s Dam (see the “different” photo).
These photos are from October 2021 (a great time of year there).
