Just an amazing trail system for a little known park. The entrance to the main trail which takes you out to the Susquehanna river, I think. Is near the blue gazebo. It runs parallel to the waterfront for a long while.

Depending on the water level (you will see the Conowingo hydro electric plant upstream of you) you could actually walk out onto the river bed. Be alert for alarms and sirens as they control the water level from the dam. I do not recommend doing it. If you do so – do it at your own risk as the water level can rise rapidly. There are lots of signs all around the park about what to look for and the indications you need to be concerned for.

When I walked my dog there we only ran into one other person – so it is pretty isolated and a nice bit of relatively untouched nature to go and explore.

There is a kids paved hiking trail with informational signs all around the park. There is also a beautiful playground for the kids.

I highly recommend this park!!!

If you’re looking to get out into nature and have a clear pathway leading you around this is the trail for you . Super easy to follow with lots of “secret” side trails leading to the banks of the river . Great for dog walking and lots to see and explore!
