Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Experience one of Commerce Township’s most popular spots for dog lovers at this convenient dog park located in Victory Park. The area offers plenty of space for your pets to romp and socialize in a dog-friendly environment. While the park features a large space bordered by fencing, current reviews note that the fencing has gaps and the main area is not fully secured — making it best suited for dogs with reliable recall. Formerly popular for its flat pet-friendly trails, a portion is now fenced off, but the main grounds provide ample open room surrounded by trees for dogs to run and explore.
This dog park is accessible with designated wheelchair parking and welcomes all friendly, leashed pets. There are concrete pads prepared for future bench installation, northing to sit on at present, and no water stations currently available. The park is noted for its peaceful atmosphere and accessibility, making it a great choice for local dog-friendly outings in Commerce Township, MI.
Really disappointed to see that they fenced off the majority of the park including the trails where you could once walk your dog. It was a nice flat loop formerly used by dog walkers and off road bicyclists. That’s all barricaded off now. The fence has large gaps so the area cannot be considered a dog park. Dogs could get out pretty easily.
No gates yet, so make sure your dog has a good recall before you bring them. Nowhere to sit currently, but there are concrete pads in each space that look like they will have benches in the future. The space is great, lots of space for dogs to run around. My dog had a blast exploring the area and sniffing all the trees. I did notice some wires poking up out of the ground (not live, don’t worry) that I wouldn’t want a dog to chew on. As long as you keep a close eye on your dog and they aren’t prone to running away, this is a good park. I’m hoping they will add gates and benches in the future.
