FAQ for Stearns Park in Columbus North Carolina:
Stearns Park is lovely. Went to elementary school there. Have lot memories. Stop & had a sandwich & dreamed of those days. ❤🙏
I was on an overland trip, I calculated I would reach my destination too early. I stopped at Stearns Park and sat on a park bench for about an hour, reading my book. It is a very quiet, peaceful Park. More like your own backyard than a park.I didn’t really see any employees, nowhere to spend money. Just a well-maintained public open space with benches and gazebos in a nice lawn.
Nice place too have birthday party’s and clean place for kids to play
This park is very nice! Has a good little walking or jogging trail not too long so you feel like you accomplish more. Lol, the toy part for the kids was cool. There were lots of things to keep busy. Has a restroom, but I didn’t go in, but I’m sure it’s clean just by the way the outside is. There is a covered area with picnic tables off to the side. Really enjoyed going.
Movie in the park at Dana Park was a great Friday night family fun idea!
My two year old really loved the net swing. All of the farm animals on the toddler equipment was a big hit with her as well.
Pretty but cold lol wish there was a designated cross walk but idk how they’d manage tbay seeing as it’s a main road
Nice park for a quick stop on a long drive
Right in the heart of downtown Columbus, this is where the town hosts many of its public events like Fabulous 4th, Woodcarvers & Whittlers Festival, Heritage Festival, Music in the Park on the weekends in summer and more. Day to day folks use it for walking and other socializing. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is they no longer allow us to walk our dogs there. I guess someone didn’t pick up after their dog so now everyone has to suffer. It is still a great place to hang out and stop by to say hello to Cole Lumbus, our sort of Town Mascot!
