Great venue for lots of different functions. Also great staff her helped us with our function with full passion. This is not found this days at lot of places.

Mungo park is on the opposite end of the spectrum as Saluda Shoals as far as irmo parks go. No bathrooms, no benches, no trashcans, the trail is absolutely not ADA compliant (it’s the old golf course that was laid at least 30 years ago), no tree cover, no water fountains. It’s not the place to bring your kids learning how to ride their bikes or go for a walk after knee replacement surgery.

But man, I love this park. It’s as close as you can get to trail running without the risk of roots/jagged rocks. The trail is returning to nature, so it’s slanted and twisty and relentless. From the parking lot it goes at least two miles out and is humbling to run on. I added my elevation chart – that’s two miles out and back on the same trail. The trail does go further and you can get more miles in Coldstream on the streets.

Residents from coldstream and the nearby apartment complexes do use the trail as well. Be mindful of dogs (and please bring baggies if you walk yours, people keep letting their dogs use the trail and it’s gross) and bring your phone with you. If you get hurt or need help, there isn’t a park ranger to call and it’s not guaranteed anyone will see you immediately.

I’m so glad they repurposed the golf course for the community to use like this. It’s been a fun discovery.

Nice place to walk or ride a bike on a former golf course. The whole path is 4.2 miles but we did the 3 mile loop which basically looped the old golf course on the cart path. There is a foot bridge that crosses Rawls Creek. It is hilly at points so good exercise. I wish there was more signage to direct where you are going.
