🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
The Garden of the Gods Off-Leash Area offers pet owners in Colorado Springs a simple spot to let their well-behaved dogs run free. This dog-friendly grassy area is located near the parking lot, providing plenty of open space for off-leash fun. While not as developed as some local favorites, many locals prefer this spot for a quieter alternative where responsible dog ownership stands out. Note that the area isn’t fenced, so it’s best suited for dogs with reliable recall.
With ample parking and beautiful surroundings, Garden of the Gods Off-Leash Area serves as a convenient stop before heading out for a dog-friendly hike on one of the nearby trails. Just keep in mind there may not be clear signage for the off-leash zone and the terrain features tall grass in some places. For dog owners seeking a laid-back place to exercise their dogs in Colorado Springs, this park is a solid, no-frills option.
It’s a nice open area, but just not much signage/posting about where the off leash area is.
This is not a dog park. It’s a parking lot with a grassy area. It’s ok for wearing out your dog before an on-leash hike, but this isn’t a great spot.
Would be nice if it was fenced in but it is not I’m sure it’s a fine place for people with well trained dogs that won’t run off but we had to pass on it
Pretty misleading. It says off leash dog park but it’s literally just the grassy area by the parking lot. Don’t waste your time unless you enjoy tall grass and gravel parking lots with trees blocking most of the views
Plenty of parking and open space for dogs to roam around. While it’s not as developed as Bear Creek dog park, I prefer GOG since other dog owners tend to be more responsible and their dogs are better trained/behaved. Which makes sense – your dog has to be well trained when there aren’t any fences.
