It is a shame that this park is only available to Gazette employees. It is lifeless. Maybe the Gazette shod fix it up and open it as community outreach. Spark a little life into it.
I absolutely love all of Manitou Springs. The park has its own Athletic Club that is very reasonably priced with an outdoor hot tub indoor hot weight room and olympic size swimming pool. I bring my dog over there daily and all the people are very friendly. But the best part is Aviance of the park it’s got a beautiful Creek that runs down from the mountain.
“Freedom Park” has a big sign that reads “Private Property: Gazette Employees only.”. Today lucky employees get the privilege of sitting on a couple weathered picnic tables on dead grass next to the abandoned gazette newspaper building. One of the largest “parks” ever.
Whoever owns this park should give it to the city since The Gazette doesn’t use it anymore.
This is a run down park for the old Gazette building. The views from here are unobstructed. I love this park and hope to run a campaign to beautify it.
