Located in Collegeville, PA, Evansburg State Park offers an expansive, dog-friendly outdoor experience featuring scenic trails, picnic areas, and ample green space. This pet-friendly park is known for its hiking loops, such as the shady Old Farmstead trail and the picturesque Mill Race loop along Skippack Creek. Dogs are welcome on-leash throughout the trails, making it a fantastic spot for owners looking to enjoy nature with their furry friends in Montgomery County.
The park stands out for its accessibility, with wheelchair-accessible entrances and parking, as well as family-friendly amenities like playgrounds, public restrooms, and picnic tables. The lush wooded areas provide plenty of shade for hot days and offer a peaceful setting for both people and pets. While there is no dedicated off-leash dog park or fenced play zone, Evansburg State Park is an excellent choice for those seeking pet-friendly hikes and quality outdoor time near Philadelphia.
I love Evansburg! Great five mile loop and trails to add to the total.
Never been there prior to that visit. It was a very lovely walk through the woods.
This creek is a home away from home for me. My mom took me here as a kid. With overwhelmingly fond memories, and still going with the friends I went with as a kid, this place creates a feeling of family for me. 5 stars with lots of love.
One of my go-to for a nice hike. Tried a different trail. Wasn’t well marked, but still easy to follow.
We hiked the shady 0.7 mile Old Farmstead loop trail around the closed visitor center. There are interpretive signs along the trail that explain how these woods were once a thriving farm. The Mill Race 2.6 mile trail loop takes you through the woods with a view of the Skippack Creek in parts. We were impressed to see that volunteers have been working on repairing some of the bridges and clearing the path where trees have fallen. The Park has several horse trails and there were several groups riding through on our visit.
