If you’re looking for a dog-friendly hotel with pet amenities in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, the Comfort Inn & Suites stands out for pet travelers. While not a dedicated dog park, this location is highly rated for its accommodating attitude toward pets—including doggy welcome bags with treats, toys, and a poop bag, making travel with your furry friend hassle-free. The hotel is convenient for people seeking lodging near popular dog walks in Coeur d’Alene or easy access to the area’s pet-friendly activities.
The property offers a small, regularly maintained grassy dog walk area for quick potty breaks and exercise, although some guests note it’s modest in size and best suited for short outings. Comfort Inn & Suites provides the basics for a comfortable stay with your pet but does not have a fenced dog park or extensive off-leash areas. I know I absolutely left my NULL hair crimper in the windowsill when leaving the hotel room on Sunday. I’ve called 3 days in a row trying to find it. I finally got an answer today that they can’t locate it. I told them exactly where I left it. Either someone on the staff took it, or they didn’t clean the room allowing for someone that checked in that next day to take it. If you value your items, I would not recommend staying here.
The room we got was spacious and had a decent little kitchen and spacious bathroom. But there were two big issues: (1) the beds were terrible – sunken in the middle and hard under a superficially fluffy mattress cover, (2) the bathroom door was rolling and was too heavy to move. Otherwise our dog friendly room unfortunately smelled like dog pee.
The hotel is cleanly and the room we checked out (family of 5) was very pristine and had one of the best kitchens I’ve seen for a hotel. Unfortunately not much items like silverware or glasses to use and you’ll have to bring your own, luckily the downstairs has disposable cups and silverware. The hotel staff is what made the 5 stars they were kind, friendly and helpful.
This is by far the best Best Western I’ve ever stayed at. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, the rest of the staff was great as well, especially the breakfast staff.
The room was very clean.
The pool was well maintained and enjoyable.
This hotel is very dog friendly, even giving a doggy bag with treats, toys, and a poop bag.
The only complaint is that the dog walk area is so small, and even though it’s obviously cleaned regularly, my dog was grossed out and wouldn’t use it. Also, there were small slugs in the grass that could make the dog ill if ingested.
That aside, I can’t say enough about how great this hotel has been.
The staff were incredible. I had to book an unexpected second night after some car trouble and Tamika at the front desk was very kind and went out of her way to ensure that I was getting the best rate available. She also made sure I didn’t have to change rooms and she had another set of keycards ready for me the next day, even though I’d forgot to ask for them. She was really terrific. The hotel is also far enough off the interstate that I couldn’t hear the traffic but it was still close enough to everything I could’ve needed. Great hotel! Great people!
