I’ve been going here for 10+ years and I can 100% say this place lives up to what it says to be! 👏 The wait when we went was very little (5-10 minutes) but usually it’s around 30-60 minutes on busy days.
Food: we got a 🍔Bacon Deluxe, 🐟🥬Fish & Slaw, 🍕🍔Pizza Burger, 🍟Fries, 🧀Cheese Curds, and a 🥤Marshmallow Milkshake (and drinks of course!).
I recommend everything we ordered EXCEPT the Pizza Burger!! It tastes like lasagna, literally! So if you ever order a burger here, try to go with a classic.
Service: we got our food at least less then 10 minutes after we ordered it. They’re usually quick with orders, so keep that in mind! They’re also very friendly, so if you forgot something when you ordered, you can ask for it and they’ll help you with a smiling face! 😄
Atmosphere: gives a classic modern diner vibe; you can see where the modern stuff is even though they try to keep everything the same as when they first opened (which is really cool!). The modern stuff is mostly outdoor (where you can find a dog park and seating areas), so if you want a classic diner, try to stay inside and eat there. 😊
Typical American food restaurant, which is famous in Duluth area all because of TV food channel has been introducing years ago. In fact, nothing surprising. One good thing is nice/fast service though there is always a long line. Plus, they kindly offer several picnic tables and 🚻 restrooms in the parking lot for customers and people who just drive by.
We got there on a Monday at 1pm and the line went out the door forever, the wait went pretty smooth about 30 minutes and the line was not any shorter when we left. 3 milk shakes, 2 fish and chips platters, one double hamburger, 1 mushroom and Swiss burger (my only knock are the mushrooms used are not great at all) onion rings, fries and cheese curds. Once we ordered the food was available in less than 10 minutes. The guy taking our order was fantastic. Def understand why this place is so popular.
Highly recommend! We had a California burger, chicken tenders, small fries, cheese curds and blackberry shake. They were all good, however my son said the tenders were soft. He loved the fries. Great atmosphere, vibe, plenty of seating and parking. Rich history and worthy of a visit!
First time eating here. Prices were so much better than other places we’ve stopped. I was pleasantly surprised how fast they got us our order. The bacon deluxe burger was loaded with toppings and delicious.
The onion rings were perhaps the best I’ve ever had. The fries were okay.
I had heard the shakes were good so my wife and I split a strawberry shake and it did not disappoint! It was so good.
Highly recommend stopping here.
Oh, and the employees were so friendly even though they were really busy.
