If you’re searching for a dog-friendly hiking spot in Clinton, South Carolina, the Swamp Rabbit Trail in Laurens County is a great local option. This scenic paved trail winds through both wooded areas and quiet streets, offering a pet-friendly walking environment with easy-to-follow markings. Owners can enjoy a brisk walk while their dogs explore the sights and smells of this popular greenway.
The trail features multiple benches along the wooded section, making it comfortable for owners to take a break as their pets rest or hydrate. There is convenient parking available at the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce parking lot, right across from the trailhead. While the path includes a few moderate hills, it remains accessible and spacious, perfect for families with pets who love outdoor exercise. Please note that this is not a traditional fenced dog park, but rather a well-maintained community trail that welcomes leashed dogs.
Nice place for a walk
Good to have but there’s definitely a homeless person around
There is no web site or info on the trail, how long it is, where it starts/ends or how safe it is. Nothing really on the page about it.
I parked in the Lauren’s County Chamber of Commerce parking lot. Not sure if that’s allowed, but it’s right across the street from the trail head and there were plenty of open spaces. This is a nice smooth paved path with benches along the wooded part. Part of it is through a wooded area and the other part takes you on the street (low traffic street) and guides you with the swamp rabbit trail logo painted on the street. It was about a 1.65 mile loop. I say it was moderate because there are a few hills. They aren’t too bad, however if you’re propelling a wheelchair or pushing someone in a wheelchair, you would get a good workout.
