Hunts Mills Park, located at 32 Haver Farm Rd in Clinton, NJ, is a scenic retreat perfect for dog lovers searching for pet-friendly trails and beautiful surroundings. Although not a traditional dog park with fenced-in play areas, Hunts Mills Park welcomes dogs on-leash, offering spacious fields, paved fitness trails, shaded areas, and vibrant gardens throughout the park. There are several benches for relaxing and soaking in the local wildlife, and the park is well-known for its large open areas—great for a leisurely stroll with your pup!
The park is also home to two baseball fields, a pond, playgrounds, gazebos for picnics or private gatherings, and multiple walking and hiking trails, making it a wonderful spot for family outings. Local residents appreciate the park’s year-round beauty, frequent community events like bonfires and fireworks, and its well-maintained, clean environment. With plenty of parking and dog-friendly paths, Hunts Mills Park ranks as a favorite dog park in Clinton, New Jersey for both locals and visitors alike.
Best open field to enjoy the sun
Great bonfire!!! The road in/out gets pretty tight when it’s super crowded and cars park on both sides, leave a little early to beat the crowd. But a great time, and a great place for a park.
Great park. Can get a little soggy. Cool January Bonfire!
This was our first time to this wonderful relaxing evening just hanging out by a bonfire. Loved it!
This lil area is off the beaten track that if you don’t see the sign you will miss the road as it is a gravel road looks like it is part of the house to the lil road. It’s really not a park for kids as it has 2 baseball fields and a trail along a creek with a swampy pond… the trail is called the fitness trail. As along this trail, you will find areas to workout. Dogs on a leash are welcomed n there is 2 parking areas. The community has planted some little gardens through out the trail, which I highly recommend a few small wood butterfly houses throughout the park n a few benches to seat along the trail would be nice to relax and enjoy the birds singing as there is one bench in front of the swamp/pond just not the perfect spot as the pond has a swampy smell. The trail is clean with no glass or trash, making it a perfect place to walk your dog. I did not come across a bathroom or a fountain for water. As well I don’t recommend walking this trail after dusk, as it’s very quiet with lil to no people.
