Cold Brook County Park

Cold Brook County Park offers a peaceful lake setting ideal for fishing, kayaking, and hiking with wheelchair accessible entrance and parking. The park features picnic tables, playground equipment like slides and swings, volleyball courts, and clean public restrooms. It is kid-friendly with amenities suitable for children but has some concerns about security and strict camping reservation policies. Overall, it’s a scenic and family-friendly spot for outdoor activities.

Staff very rude . Came to visit paid the daily rate only had a few campers there and the camp host told me I had to move and park down in visiting parking. That would have been ok if the campground had more campers . And really what does it matter when I was parked on a site of who I was visiting. I can see why the place was empty. Have better host! Camping should be fun for all . You have up tight people that make it unfun .
This looks like a nice campground, but their policy sucks! You MUST. reserve a site over the phone no later than 4:30 pm the day of arrival, or else you’re toast. No website. No walk in allowed. No matter how empty the campground is, they will NOT acomodate you if you just happen to show up without a prior reservation.
Not only that, but the host will promptly show up and politely ask you to leave.
Attended a gathering at this park under a pavilion . This was the first time at this park.. it was very nice. From the pavilion there is a wonderful view of the lake. The restrooms were slightly larger than the standard ones at other parks … It was very clean! I would definitely go back…
Campground was very clean where we were camping. Restrooms were a disaster – fault of other campers not staff. Great location and very quiet.
I have mixed feelings about my review. I do love this lake. We have fished and kayaked many times here and love the peacefulness being out on the water. It’s not too busy and seems to be always clean around the parking lots. Last Saturday our truck and one other vehicle was vandalized/broken into. Not just a quick smash and grab but they took time to find large boulders(plural) to destroy our truck. Happened between 4pm-6pm on a Saturday, daylight hours. I just can’t understand how something like this happened without being noticed and park rangers patrolling and at the gate. This is a county park and you are supposed to pay for a park pass. Why would you pay to go and vandalize vehicles?! Was parked at the boat launch parking lot. Just be aware. Again I love the lake and will still be back when we get our truck fixed. I am attaching the good, bad and ugly. (Good being the beautiful scenery and bad is our poor truck that took a beating)
