Stopped in for lunch as we are working on the a school in the area. Kaley was the bartender and provided outstanding service. Told us a story behind the name, which made the place even better. We both had the Korean tacos and they were🔥. My girlfriend had the dry white wine and quite impressed for a wine from Kansas. I sampled both the Porter and Stout and they were delicious. This is definitely worth the drive from Kansas City or the surrounding area! Go check them out
I came for the evening with our 2 toy poodle rescues. Mostly for a night away from the kids. Annie was my server, and she was awesome! One of our rescues was still very anxious and skittish. Annie was great about approaching quietly and slowly. She was so friendly and thoughtful. I will definitely be back with my husband for a date night! The beer and food was awesome, but the service was phenominal!
Upon discovering POG existed by playing around on Google Maps and then reading the plentiful, wonderful reviews, off we went to adventure a few miles south of KC to a land called Cleveland, Missouri.
The four year old building is clean and well taken care of.
The staff was eager to please in every way possible.
The beers were cold and quite flavorful, and we were extremely tempted to get the famous 15 beer flight.
As for the creative menu items…top knotch indeed.
We couldn’t get enough of the Apricot Cheese Dip. Warm, crispy, homemade chips were a great compliment to the brews, and the three cheese dip was delightful.
Next, we enjoyed the Frikadellen with a side of gravy recommended by the fantastic woman who helped us all the way.
We purchased an order of chicken wings along with some High and Tight Chocolate cake and a slice of homemade apple pie for our enjoyment at home.
It was a Sunday afternoon, and customers, both regulars and newbys such as us, were strolling in the entire time we were bellied up to the bar. We enjoyed this place and left feeling as if we had made new friends.
Thanks, POG, for doing it up right. Perhaps we’ll see you during your annual Forth of July extravaganza!?
We very much enjoyed the overall ambience of this venue. The selection of fine beers was appealing and tantalizing. The food is all made from scratch and tasted wonderful! The desserts were both elegant and tasteful. Our server was top notch and very friendly.
Today was my first time to POG Brewing Company, even though I’ve lived in the area for months, because I thought it was just a bar, and I don’t drink much anymore. A friend recommended the food, so I figured I’d give it a go.
As I walked in, there was a large American flag on the South wall, and military uniforms in glass on several walls. That’s cheating, bro. God Bless America.
11:00am on a Sunday morning, I basically had the place to myself. I ordered the Schnitzel Strips and the Spicy Chicken Tenders, thinking I’d take some leftovers home to share.
I was worried when the chicken tenders came out, because they were very uniform in shape, which normally means they came out of box. I was pleasantly surprised by the seasoning on them, with just a little kick, and the chicken was cooked just right. The schnitzel strips were tasty as well, and the gravy that came with them was really good. The fries were perfectly cooked, but could have used a bit more seasoning, if I’m being honest.
Overall, the food was good, the service was great, and the price was right. The menu is small, but that’s not a bad thing if what is there is executed well, and I was happy with what I got. It would be nice if there was a naked meat option, like a steak, and side salad option for us big boys watching our carbs.
Even though I don’t drink much anymore, I’ll be back for the food I’m sure. Eat local!
