Very nice little park. Some good fishing spots!
Nice and quiet lots of boats
Beautiful, clean park.
There is an area for children to play, pavilions to rent, picnic tables, plenty of parking, bathrooms, a boat launch and a fishing area.
If you’re looking for an uninterrupted area to fish – this isn’t it. People were constantly coming and going. We’re a grumpy old couple that likes our privacy. We also like to cook our own lunch on our tailgate. The only spot to do this was in the parking lot. So, unfortunately, that didn’t happen the day we visited.
I was surprised by the lack of garbage cans. There was a sign to place trash in the dumpster. However, depending on where you were, you’d have to drive your trash to dispose of it.
While we were there, we saw ducks, turtles, lots of boats (with boats entering from the launch area there was plenty of noise) and kids (with kids = noise).
None of this bothered us, I’m just outlining our time there in case others are looking for a “new fishing spot”. It truly is a beautiful park, but it depends on what you’re looking for.
beautiful park. two nice and well maintained playgrounds with a diverse grouping of obstacles, activities and jungle gym fun. nice Pavillions. Great boat launch that does require a Washington County launch permit.
Came to this park a lot as a kid and wanted to take my girlfriend’s 4 year old granddaughter there to see it. I was pleasantly surprised to see it had gained some newer and more playground equipment and that additional pavilions were added since I was last there. She had a blast needless to say. One caution… watch out for the duck droppings along the shore!
