🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Larz Anderson Park is a small, peaceful green space in Cincinnati, Ohio, known for its breathtaking views of the Ohio River and downtown skyline. Tucked away at the end of Golden Avenue, this hidden gem is a wonderful spot for pet owners looking for a tranquil place to walk or relax with their dogs. The park features open grassy areas that are great for casual strolls, light exercise, or a quiet game of catch with your pup.
While not a traditional dog park with dedicated off-leash or fenced zones, Larz Anderson Park is dog-friendly, welcoming leashed pets to enjoy the scenic overlook, grassy fields, and sunset vistas. The atmosphere is calm and rarely crowded, making it perfect for owners seeking a low-key outing with their furry companions. Children will also enjoy the playground at the park’s lower portion, and there is limited gravel parking available at the hilltop entrance.
Small park…but lucky enough to go there at sunset..looks beautiful
Wonderful view and peaceful atmosphere. Generally not a lot of traffic except in the summer. It’s not a large park, of course, being a small overlook at the end of Golden Ave, but it has, as my and other reviewers’ photos show, one of the most, at the same time, peace, yet spectacular view of the Ohio River and downtown Cincinnati (always best when viewed from as far away as possible)for miles.
There is, alas, only one bench, perched solitarily at the summit of the overlook. However, since, in my humble opinion, the park is best when it is empty except for oneself, this is not an insurmountable problem. Plus there is something poetic in the one bench that I feel a field of benches would lack…but now I am simply woolgathering.
Has a small but beautiful lookout point over the Ohio River and a small field. Good place to chillax or have a small game of catch. Just don’t throw it down the mountain. I didn’t notice any playground like other reviews did. Open 6 am to 10 pm.
I discovered this park while undergoing various yoga teacher training programs at the local Embra Studio, which is in walking distance. Larz Anderson Park seems relatively unknown for being so outrageously beautiful, with wonderful vistas of the Ohio River and the southeastern skyline of downtown Cincinnati. Very few people are ever here; usually there’s a couple on a bench overlooking the vista, or someone taking a quiet walk. As I sit here now, I am alone and it is so peaceful.
The part of the park with the view, grass, and benches is at the very top of the hill of Golden Street and has a gravel parking area (and a porta-potty). Down the hill a bit and across a road is the other half of the park, which has a picnic bench and a playground. Larz Anderson Park is a wonderful place to come for peace and quiet, light exercise, yoga, beautiful views, or quiet outdoor meditation and I highly recommend it.
This is a small park hidden away up a two lane residential road off Delta Avenue. It has a playground and limited parking due to its size. There are lots of open space grassy areas but no real hiking trails. This park does not have restrooms. The thing that draws people here is the excellent view of the Ohio River valley and downtown Cincinnati in the distance. The view is especially dramatic at sunset from one of the benches facing West. Enjoy some quiet and contemplation at this special little park.
