Love this beach.it was decimated with the last 2 storms but is being rebuilt.

Well maintained parking lot. There are several restrooms and changing rooms. Say hello to all of the friendly seagulls.

While we were visiting during the week, it was nice and cool for mid week in June. The beach is very clean with well-maintained multiple Porta potties and shower areas. Much to my surprise there was even a baby changing station. There are no lifeguards from beyond parking lot two onward. Everyone seems to be respectful and they carry out their own trash. There are a lot of surf casting fisherman, but they seem to leave in the late afternoon.

We went to Chincoteague Island and went to the beach. It was beautiful! Kids are back in school, and it was a weekday, so there wasn’t much of a crowd. I was happy to be able to go to the Visitor’s Center and get my Access Pass from one of the Rangers. Showers were available, and it was very clean. My only complaint is that you can not have dogs in the car if you are just driving through the park. Maybe if they see the ponys, their barking would scare them, but at Assateague, you can take your dog on the beach so long as it’s leashed. The upside is no dog waste on the sand. I just thought that if you were just driving or walking through the actual park, dogs should be welcome.

First time visiting.

The southern end of the Parking area #2 was blocked off, and the seagulls were lined up like sentry guards, I was amused.

The afternoon was cold and windy, so not many people were there. Then there was a beautiful sunset.
