Located on Westover Road in Chicopee, Massachusetts, Service Dog Memorial Dog Park provides a dog-friendly environment for local pet owners. This park is unique in its mission to honor service dogs and fallen heroes, offering pet-friendly trails, signs about military history, and open dog areas where your furry friend can play. Families visiting from the Chicopee area highlight its peaceful setting, making it a tranquil spot for walks and remembrance.
Visitors will find a fenced dog area for off-leash play, though recent reviews mention that maintenance is lacking, with overflowing trash barrels, old mulch, and users often providing their own poop bags. There is a nearby playground for kids, and some agility-type elements are present, such as slides and play features your dog may enjoy exploring. Despite some challenges with upkeep, the park remains a popular choice for dog-friendly outings in Chicopee, especially for those looking to combine exercise with local military history.
It is a nice place to walk and honor the fallen.
This park looked like it could have been nice but it’s not maintained by any town facilities trash along the paths, old decaying wood chips the gravel is not a great thing for dogs, never mowed trash barrels are overflowing the small dog park have no bag dispenser and the only bags in the large dog park has only been supplied by people who leave some for other dog owners plus other concerns
It was extremely nice. Peaceful, tranquil. My dog loved it. We couldn’t go in the dog area as other dogs were in there. We walked around the path of the kids play ground. She had her very first experience on a slide and loved it. She kept going up the stairs and down the slide. She loved the spining top, and the seats. A great little agility course for her. I loved the stands on the path that explains the military trucks, planes and weapons. Will definitely be going back!!!
The park is poorly maintained. The trash barrels are overflowing. Poop bags are being supplied by pet pawrents when able, the mulch is disgusting & old & the small rock gets in all the dogs mouths. So sad. It was beautiful when it was 1st erected.
