The West Loop 569 Dog Friendly Area is one of the most beloved dog parks in Chicago, offering a spacious, well-maintained environment for pups to play and owners to relax. Nestled at 1358 W Monroe St, this popular dog park is praised for its ample parking, both in lots and on the street, and its welcoming community of dog lovers. The park is fully fenced and provides two separate areas—one for small dogs and another for large dogs—making it great for all breeds and sizes to safely enjoy off-leash fun.
Owners appreciate amenities like shade from trees, benches, gazebos, and a variety of surfaces including grass, wood chips, rocks, and some cement. There are small splash pools and water bowls available (bring your own water for refilling), plus well-stocked poop bags and trash cans for cleanliness. The park is known for its friendly atmosphere, seasonal community events, and convenient location near pet-friendly trails and the river walk. Whether you live nearby or are just visiting Chicago, the West Loop 569 Dog Friendly Area is a must-visit spot for socializing your dog in a safe, off-leash environment.
Hey, everyone, two and four-legged friends. Max says hello and we miss coming to his favorite park! Hope this finds everyone well and we hope to get back to the West Loop for a visit very soon.
One dog was harassing my puppy both times we went. Owner yelled at me for pulling her aggressive dog off my dog as he was trying to hide under the bench to get away. My puppy just wanted to run, not fend off an aggressive dog.
A great little area for dogs. There are cement, grass, and rocky areas. There is a small pool and gazebos and benches for people to sit. Very nice clean park!
This park is awesome the only problem I had was yesterday my pup Yorkie was attacted by a big brown dog while there the dog just walked up to her and became aggressive people that were there stepped then came the dogs owner…the dog name is Mocha she’s a big brown brindle color girl dog maybe a Lab-pitbull mix
Our favorite dog park!! If you are driving, always plenty of parking. Plenty of space for dogs to run plenty of space for people to spread out!! Definitely room to take down your mask and enjoy the fresh air with your pups. Shades areas for hot times and splash pools for dogs to cool off in. Handful of misc toys/balls around. Pool bags have always been stocked, but come on, use your own and save those for emergencies! Never had an issue yet with an aggressive dog or entitled owner. Everyone always just relaxed and there for same reason.
