Located in the Rogers Park neighborhood, Pottawattomie Park offers a welcoming and family-friendly atmosphere for locals and visitors alike. While it’s not exclusively a dog park, this green space is known for its spaciousness, clean restrooms, and attentive staff, making it a pleasant place for outings with your furry friend. The park showcases a playground, basketball courts, and a large lawn area, providing diverse activities for all ages and pets. Families note the playground, and pregnant park-goers appreciate the well-maintained bathrooms. Park reviews highlight the friendly environment and community spirit.
While searching for a dog park in Chicago, Illinois, consider that Pottawattomie Park’s grassy areas may contain some glass—so supervision and keeping your dog on a leash for safety is advisable. Trash bins could be more abundant near activity zones, especially in summer, and water fountains may not always be in working order. However, with its friendly staff, large open spaces, and shaded spots, Pottawattomie Park remains a peaceful spot for dog owners and families looking to enjoy Chicago’s outdoors together.

It’s good my friend works there as a junior camper or whatever they call it, and the children get treated well there, and it’s just a good park.

Really nice park! I’m pregnant and I have to use the bathroom frequently and I absolutely LOVE how clean the bathrooms are maintained not to mention how friendly and welcoming the staff is!
My only complaint is that I feel like the two parks need more garbage cans closer to the actual parks because in the summer there’s a lot of litter from kids and adults alike. I’m not sure if the park can do anything about this or if it’s alderman issue but other than that this is a great park!
Perfect for the whole family 🙂

A very nice place, large sprinkler for kids. There is some glass in some grassy areas though, so would definitely discourage bare feet in the grass
