Munroe (Roy) Park – Dog Park in Chicago, Illinois

Munroe (Roy) Park is a neighborhood gem located at 2617 W 105th St in Chicago, IL 60655. Known for its small-town community feel, this park attracts local residents and their pups seeking a place to play and socialize. Although primarily concrete, the dog park features two separate enclosed runs—one for small dogs and one for larger breeds—giving everyone a safe and dedicated space for off-leash fun. Friendly neighbors and rarely crowded conditions make it ideal for relaxed visits with your canine companion.

Unique to Munroe (Roy) Park is its circle-shaped, fully fenced dog park area where dogs can enjoy off-leash time. While natural grass is missing (the ground is all concrete), the park offers plenty of benches around the perimeter, shade from trees and structures, and even a water fountain for both humans and pups. There’s a small kiddie pool for dogs to cool off, and a lovely walk along the nearby river enhances your outdoor experience. This dog-friendly spot in Chicago is best for quick puppy play sessions, though grass lovers may wish for more greenery.

The baseball fields needs some attention. The field seemed more like gravel and was really hard or needed some water. It was not good. My son scraped his knee pretty bad with pants on. The one bench didn’t seem stable and no room for others to sit in chairs. The grass was not cut and weeds were itching our legs. I’m sure it would be a nice field if taken care of.

Dr. McSweeney is the Best! Still the same, Kevin is both accessable and fantastic with kids. He leads a Thespian group here as well!

This park has a nice playground, but the actual park itself can use some maintenance.
