A long concrete walking path that goes around the outside of the grass area and dog park. No play equipment for kids. Has a community garden that can be rented and a small and large dog park that has a membership to get in.
The walking path in this park is quite nice even in oppressive heat and the park has several elements of interest – pond, prairie, community garden. While I was walking today, I spotted a turtle sunning itself in the grass and a deer grazing, completely unconcerned with my presence as usual. There’s also an enclosed dog park that appears to be very popular. My photos don’t do it justice – visit sometime and see for yourself.
Been taking our Jack Russell/Beagle mix to the dog park here for the past 6 months. He’s 1 today! Had so much fun with the other dogs and met great humans too.
This little park is a bit of a surprise, located so close to highly trafficked areas. The wildflower gardens are pretty when things are in bloom. The walking paths are mostly out in the sun, and there is a small pond with a little dock that might be good for fishing.
My wife and I went to Eberwein Park recently to play shuffleboard. They have 2 courts there. We went in the morning and the large nearby trees offered plenty of shade. One of the courts had just been redone. I imagine the next time we visit Eberwein the other one will be freshened up as well. You need to bring your own disks and sticks, which we did. We also waxed the disks at home to speed them up. There were picnic tables and park benches near where we could put our scoresheets and water bottles. The court we played on had a slight drift to the left, and was decent. While we were playing we saw several people arriving with dogs. I believe they have a dog park somewhere in the area. They also have a nice concrete walking path. It’s a nice park, and we’ll be back for more shuffleboard, and maybe try to find the dog park. Update: 4/23/24 We returned to Eberwein Park this morning to play shuffleboard. There is still only 1 court repainted. The other court had faded lines and numbers, and someone dragged a picnic table onto the court. We played a couple of games on the good court.
