Beautiful park with the Cheybogan Crib lighthouse just a short walk away. Waterfront parking with an amazing view. I imagine the locals eat lunch here because why the heck not! Plenty of shade and picnic tables throughout. Large play area with two separate sections; one for little kids and one with larger structures.
I didn’t use the bathroom, so I can’t comment on whether it is locked or not. But the building looked clean and well-maintained.
Some idiot threw their mask on the ground, which is ridiculous since there are several trash receptacles throughout the park.
Don’t be a mask-hole people! Please dispose of your masks and other refuse in the appropriate places. 🤦🏻♀️
Very nice park on the great lakes, including a nice view of the water, a lighthouse, boardwalk, kids playground, and wetlands viewing area. This is a great place to eat some ice cream and watch for barges to come through!
This park has it all. The beach is sandy and never very crowded. It’s nice to walk the pier and watch the boat traffic on the Cheboygan River. There are always people fishing. The sandy playground has a big wooden castle that my kids love. There are tall trees and nice places to sit and have a picnic.
I passed by this park in October while checking out the nearby Cheboygan Crib Light. It’s such a cute park. There are interesting playground items like the baby Mackinac bridge and a sail boat. There are volleyball nets. There is an observation deck nearby to overlook the nearby marsh. Nice place overall.
Stopped here to check out the harbor light. You can also view the new coast guard cutter Mackinaw here at its home port.
