Great mountain swimming experience. Cold , clear, clean water. Its 10 degrees cooler in the mountains. They have grilks for cooking out. Just feels great getting away from everything and being in the wilderness connecting with nature.

All the reviews I read said nothing about the drive to get to this picnic area, so I am going to mention it. Once off the pavement you will continue on a gravel road for about 20 minutes. You may feel like you are in Deliverance. Hang in there it’s worth the sketchy drive. Great fishing and swimming and very peaceful. We will be going back.

Holly creek is the best place to go for a swim on a hot summer day! There are several different and easily accessible swimming spots up and down the river. Bring a mask and snorkel to catch glimpses of the many species of fish and salamanders that call this creek their home. My children love this place and I would recommend that you visit! There’s a waterfall up from the parking area right before the first switchback going up the mountain. It’s a hike with many creek crossings, wear your diving booties.
