Borden’s Dog Park – Dog-Friendly Trails in Chatham, New York

Borden’s offers dog owners a scenic wooded retreat in Chatham, NY, perfect for those seeking natural pet-friendly trails and dog-friendly hiking. The park features a network of winding paths through beautiful woodland, especially vibrant during leaf-changing season. The trails are generally well marked, but some areas may be challenging with steep inclines, roots, and rocks, so adventurous pups and their owners will enjoy an off-the-beaten-path experience.

This tranquil spot boasts plenty of parking and serene, quiet surroundings, making it ideal for peaceful walks with your dog. While the park’s trails provide plenty of shade from the wooded canopy, visitors should note that amenities are rustic—bring water, bug spray (especially during summer), and be prepared for potential trail obstacles like fallen trees. Borden’s is a wonderful spot for nature-loving dogs and owners, but may not be ideal for those seeking a traditional fenced dog run or manicured paths.

its okay plenty of parking their are a few trails I didn’t do the whole trail I went around took the short cut. I think if you do the other section it was a steep hill and a little longer. nothing much at all though besides a walk through a trail

Bring your bug spray! Lots of mosquitoes (July). Well marked and mostly well maintained trails. Fair amount of parking. My son and I came to do the CLC Nature Quest.

This was my first time here and I went with the past reviews and what had been spoken about. The inclines were so much steeper then what was mentioned, trails were not maintained or marked well. One trail going up the hill had a huge tree which had been there awhile blocking trail. Me though crawled under and continued on my way. U can easy get lost off a trail if not paying attention. Overall the scenery was nice as the leaves are starting to change color and fall. But I know I won’t be back anytime soon. Be careful on mountain.
