The park is beautiful! My visit today was to participate with other Duke Energy retirees in the Catawba River Keeper’s Annual River Sweep event. We waded into the Briar Creek waters to pickup trash that has collected in the creek over the last year.

Great place to walk and take your pooch along! Being a large expanse situated on a very flat, grassy floodplain, makes it an excellent place to walk or peddle on what would otherwise be just unusable greenspace. The old mint museum on site remains underutilized for historic appreciation purposes and civic activities.

Nice walkway. Charlotte has a long way to go in terms of greenway infrastructure but this is at least a small start.
