Just a beautiful trail! It was mostly shady with sun in spots. It’s unpaved but flat. There are no restrooms but there is a parking lot in Chariton just west of Hardee’s. There was an area to park off the road just north of Derby where we were able to get on the trail and walk the 8.5 miles to Chariton. I will definitely be back!

It’s a good sight seeing trail, but i’d only recommend it for Walking/Running.

Biking the trail from Chariton to Derby is decent, but the section from Derby to Humeston is completely overgrown, and almost impossible to get through (south of Watrous).

No facilities, bring your own water. Benches only.
