Wilhoite is great for a quick little hike through the woods. It’s only 0.7 mi so it only takes about 15 min or so. But what I like to do is start on the wilhoite trail and the spring creek trail branches off the wilhoite across the wooden bridge. Its beautiful now with the water flowing through the creek. Be careful if its wet out. It was wet and muddy today. I did a lot of slipping, but didn’t have the best shoes on either. The spring creek is 1.7 mi and the wilhoite is 0.7 so it’s about an hour maybe and such a nice little hike. There are several areas you gave to climb up and then back down on your way back through the trail but it’s nothing major. Just again, becare if its wet and slippery. All in all a great little 2.4 mi hike. I’ll just add also the wild Turkey trail is great but you need to be very careful there this time of year because there are many many hand size lose stones and a ton of tree roots that are on the ground that are covered by the leaves. You can very easily seriously injure an ankle break/sprain. Might as well throw the wetlands in here as well. This is a very easy walk. Its 0.95 mi I believe. Its wide open, easy walking. There is an observation deck to sit and watch for any birds or just take a break. I was there yesterday and did step in a hole but it looks like they have been out there filling holes. Hope all this helps out. Maybe you’ll run into Moose and I out on one of the trails. We go to at least one everyday.

This is an easy, short and lovely walk through the woods along the duck river. We just wanted to get outside and take in some fresh air and enjoy nature and this trail is great for that. It’s just off the main road inside the park. Parking is convenient and as long as it hasn’t rained too recently it shouldn’t be slippery or muddy for smaller children. It was a bit slippery this evening when we went because it had rained earlier in the day but we just took extra caution. A lovely passage along the river overall.
