Discover the serenity of Pine Woods Park, where dog owners in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, can enjoy expansive green spaces, a peaceful creekside, and pet-friendly trails. This dog-friendly park features an open field ideal for playing fetch, a mowed grass path, and a mulch-covered trail that winds alongside the stream – perfect for pet owners seeking a relaxed, less crowded spot for outdoor adventures and hikes.
Among its highlights are picnic tables, benches with views of the creek, and ample natural shade from surrounding trees. The park is wheelchair accessible and welcomes families, making it a good choice for kids and those seeking a tranquil outing. Unlike more manicured parks, Pine Woods Park offers a natural, low-traffic atmosphere for peaceful dog walks and quality time in nature.
There’s condoms all over the parking lot and some weird guy was hiding behind a tree and looking at us when we first got there, then he quickly got in his car and left. We stayed for only about 5 minutes because it seemed like a sketchy place and we were scared to leave our car unattended. When we went to leave that same guy returned and parked beside us and he was just staring at us all bug-eyed like we were martians from a different planet. He was acting really paranoid and weird like he was on drugs, so we got out of there fairly quick. Very weird experience, I doubt I’ll be going back. Definitely don’t bring your kids here.
Small field and a trail through the woods. Good spots to sit by a stream for quiet time. Just a couple of benches.
One open field with a small trail to walk along the creek. It doesn’t seem to get used heavily so it’s a decent place to have some quiet time.
Small but sweet natural park with a mowed grass path along the creek and a lovely large open area, shaded along its edges – great place for throwing a ball for the dog, with no one else here on a Sunday morning in July. Also has a picnic bench next to parking area, and park bench overlooking the creek. Nice respite from manicured parks and lots of people.
Great walking trail that runs along the creek. This is a mulch covered dirt trail with creekside benches. There is also a large grass field that can be used for other outdoor activities. I have seen a good amount of people fishing here as well.
